For On-Grid solar PV systems, the sources of electricity are the grid e.g., Meralco, Batelco, etc., and the solar energy through the solar panels. Daytime power comes from the solar panels, nighttime or low sunlight situation power comes from the grid.

It is by far the most common and widely used by homes and businesses. These systems do not need batteries and use either solar inverters or micro-inverters, and are connected to the public electricity grid. The harvested energy can be added to the grid and sold to the utility provider through net-metering.
